I am grateful for time spent painting in the studio today.
I am grateful for lunch with Julie. We ate take out sushi on top of Mt. Tolmie. It was nice to hang out.
I am grateful for some productive time at my desk today.
I am grateful for family fun night: Cooper’s pick. We ate flank steak salad rolls with peanut sauce, then popped some corn and rented Kung Fu Panda 3. It was a relaxed night in, and it was nice.
I am grateful for a productive work day.
I am grateful for time spend in the studio.
I am grateful for enchiladas Julie made for Supper.
I am grateful for some time on the studio this morning.
I am grateful for a meeting that timed out my afternoon a bit early, so that it just made sense to pick up my kids sooner.
I am grateful for some pretty light behind the oak tree next door that came with the sunset.
I am grateful for a night out with Julie. We watched Hologram for the King, which was just the right kind of movie for us tonight.
I am grateful for time spent in the studio this morning.
I am grateful for good weather today.
I am grateful for a fun commute this morning. Left the house with 2 kids on the back of my cargo bike, with another bike dangling off the side. After dropping off Coop and getting across some busy streets, Farley got on his bike and pedalled 2.3 Km on the way to his daycare.
I am grateful for some time in the studio today.
I am grateful for all the people that make Coop’s scout experience happen. I attended part of a meeting of the group committee that runs it; there is a lot of donation involved, in time and also money, that I had no idea about, even after being involved for 2 years.
I am grateful for some time on my own at the studio this morning.
I am grateful for time spent with Farley and Coop on bikes today. We packed up snacks and water, and hung around at a schoolyard biking around, with stops at the play park and a quick pedal over to the DQ for some ice cream cones.
I am grateful for a community dinner and board games night we happened upon at the community centre at the school. It worked out nicely for me, timing and not-making-dinner wise!
I am grateful for the sale of our old van, and for the service that car has given us.
I am grateful for a walk up bear hill with friends this afternoon, and supper at big wheel burger afterwards.
I am grateful for a visit to a thrift store, and a few good finds; not the least of which was a complete Othello board game, which Coop and I played this evening.
I am grateful for Julie, who has learned about the wonders and health benefits of fermentation, and has perfected sour pickles, which are amazing. We started our second batch tonight.
I am grateful for time spent futzing in the garage, and for a task that required me to dust off my welder. Man, nothing makes you feel as omnipotent as using molten steel to make the cuss you want to make.
I am grateful for time spent working, and time spent at the studio, and for a lifestyle where doing both in one day is not uncommon.
I am grateful for a community event at Cooper’s school, and to have been there long enough that we see a lot of people we are familiar with there.
I am grateful for Cooper’s reading prowess. He just keeps getting better. Tonight he was holding Farley’s attention with a story he was reading. If that’s not nice, what is?
Everyone in the house slept in by about 40 minutes this morning, but we all wound up where we needed to be (just) on time. I am grateful for that.
I am grateful for a sale on 30″ square exhibition depth canvases (canvi?) at the art supply store this morning, and I am grateful my cargo bike is just fine to haul 4 of them.
I am grateful for a good chunk of time at the studio today.
I am grateful for a good chunk of time working at my desk.
I am grateful for dinner with my kids.
I am grateful for our babysitter, and for a night out with Julie. We went to a movie. We saw Sully, I’d call it good, but not great. It was in 2D IMAX, which is rare these days, but my favourite way to enjoy a film.
I am grateful for 20th century technology. Our new car has a CD player in it, which is a first for me in a car I’ve owned. I just burned a CD full of music the boys dig, and I can’t wait for them to hear some of it on the way to school tomorrow morning, without any cord fumbling or arguments with Siri!
