I am grateful for luck. There was a tight schedule today, everything depended on the preceding thing going okay, and it all did. Nothing terribly critical is going on, but it’s nice it all worked.
I am grateful for family fun night: Farley’s pick. We ate Mac and cheese, and then watched the Princess Bride. What a great movie. Still holds up just fine, after all these years.
I am grateful for a new shared workspace I tried out today. It went well. I think I’ve been going a little crazy in my lonely garagenous zone. Not sure if this will be the magic bullet, but I was working well there today.
I am grateful for time spent at the studio. It’s been too long since I was last in there.
I am grateful for Coop. We were packing his stuff for a Cub Camp this evening. He’s pretty excited, and that enthusiasm is contagious.
I woke up to the sound of my boys chatting away in their room this morning. I love those moments when I see them getting along, knowing that if all goes well, they’ll always have each other, hopefully even long after I am gone. I am grateful for that.
I am grateful for trees. These days, I can’t get enough of just looking at trees.
I am grateful for a network of friends, acquiantences and colleagues who have expertise on all kinds of stuff, like how eyeballs work, and how our musculoskeletal systems work and how auto insurance works.
I am grateful that the car accident I was involved in this morning wasn’t worse. There’s nothing like that kind of event to make you realize what’s important in life, or what you have to be grateful for.
I am grateful for some nice light in the trees as they are changing colour.
I am grateful for some time spent painting in the studio tonight. Julie put the kids to bed while I did that. It did not feel like things were going my way today, it was nice to get some time in doing just what I wanted to in there.
I am grateful for Julie, who had the idea that we should go to this farm on the Saanich peninsula, where you can pick a variety of fruits and veggies, and you can feed a pig the apples that have fallen to the ground. We picked and bought bought apples, raspberries, leeks, broccoli, celery, onions, garlic, cabbage, and squash. We ate some for dinner tonight.
I am grateful for Oh Henry, which is the name of the pig. He seems like a good and happy pig. I liked that Oh Henry guy.
I am grateful for lots of productivity today. We ordered new closet doors, I accomplished a welding project, we did some other errands around town, and the boys carved some jack’o’lanterns.
I am grateful for Farley, who chose to accompany me on a trip to Costco this morning.
I am grateful for a fun swim, followed by tacos at our place with family friends of ours. They have similarly aged kids, and they are great people, who are easy and fun to hang out with.
I am grateful for a quick visit to the studio this morning
I grateful for boys snuggled up in bed listening as their mama reads a story.
I am grateful
For family fun night: Julie’s pick. We went swimming, and as always, it was fun. It was the right choice, too. Those jokers had a megaton of energy to work out, and they did.
I am grateful for tuckered out kids, it made for an easy bedtime.
I am grateful for time spent painting in the studio this morning. I had 80 minutes between dropping off Farley and a meeting, I spent 60 of them painting. Glad life worked out that way.
I am grateful for lunch out with Julie today.
I am grateful for whomever brought our family the practise of good bad funny mistake, where we go around the table and tell some example of each in our day. We don’t do it every night, but we do every once in a while; and we did it tonight.
