I am grateful for a fun evening with friends. Our kids played, then watched a movie while the grownups enjoyed great food, wine, and conversation. Great stuff!
I am grateful, though somewhat ambivalent, for the kind of night one has when they fall asleep with their kids putting them to bed, then wakes up in the middle of the night and has the whole, quiet house to themselves for a couple of hours, even though they know they should be sleeping.
I am grateful for a fun overnight trip to Science World in Vancouver. Soon after we had breakfast this morning Coop and I said our goodbyes and we parted ways with the rest of the Cubs.
I am grateful for a chance to walk in the stables and see the horses race from the other side of the racetrack at Hastings Park. My father in law owns a share of a racehorse, and he took us all to check that out. It was pretty cool; it’s hard for me to believe that I lived in Vancouver for 12 years and had never been.
I am grateful for time spent reading to Farley and rubbing his back at bedtime.
I am grateful for views of Mt. Baker from the ferry, and the sighting of several great blue herons, and 39 bald eagles on the way in to Vancouver.
I am grateful for Giant Panda (GP), who greeted us at Nana and Pop’s tonight.
I am grateful for my smart phone. In an attempt to reduce my media intake, I switched to a flip phone a few weeks ago. I’ve switched back temporarily in case I need maps etc while we’re on the road, and that’s why there are lots of photos in this blog post.
