Gratitude

I am grateful for time in the studio today.

I am grateful for access to good vision care for Coop.

I am grateful for civilized discourse on Facebook with old friends who have different political ideas than I.

I am grateful for time spent getting my kids down for bed.

Gratitude

I am grateful for all the infrastructure in place that allows for the easy sale of used goods. I like money, and I like decluttering, and I like meeting random strangers for small transactions.

I am grateful for time at the studio today.

I am grateful for help and support from my family and the other scouters at Coop’s Cub Meeting tonight. I organized 3 arty projects for them to do, and it went well. I don’t ever recall such a quiet meeting. Those normally raucous and unbridled active kids pretty much all just got into the zone that we get into when we’re intent on a project, and then they stayed there, which was the effect I was trying to achieve.

Gratitude

I am grateful for a full, enjoyable weekend.

I am grateful for Coop’s Cub Car rally. There were so many cool cars that these kids made. Coop’s had a last minute addition of LEGO flames in the back that I think took it up a few notches.

I am grateful for time at the studio yesterday.

I am grateful for a lazy-ish Sunday. I got some cuss done, and I got some time lazing about with my nose in a book. This is thanks partly to friends who entertained our kids with their kids this afternoon, for which I am also grateful.

I’m grateful for a feast at our place tonight with those same friends.

I am grateful for variety shows that Farl, and his pal, Raph, put on for us. There was singing, beatboxing, and audience participation. That, right there, is the stuff of life.

Gratitude

I am grateful for some conversation and coffee this morning.

I am grateful that Farl seems to be feeling better than he was last night.

I am grateful for family fun night: my pick. We went out for donairs, then we were in for a rented movie. We watched the Jack Black 2010 version of Gulliver’s Travels.

I am grateful for Coop. He was upset for a while, but later apologized, and made a bookmark so that when I read him Ramona Quimby books we can keep our place in them better. I’m also grateful he still likes to do that. He’s a voracious reader on his own and doesn’t need me to read to him; but I’m honoured that he still likes me to.

Gratitude

I am grateful for a bit of snow. The kids woke up and were out frolicking in it before we were out of bed this morning. It’s fun stuff once in a while.

I am grateful for a productive day in the garagenous zone.

I am grateful for Cub Pack Art Project Test Run #3 – clothespin puppets. I think I’m all set now, as much as one can be for a pack of rabid, feral 8-10 year olds. They are a crazy bunch, but they know how to have fun.

Gratitude

I am grateful for time with Jules this morning, shopping at a new grocery store we’d never been to, because we are adventurous like that.

I am grateful for time at the studio.

I am grateful for snow. We don’t get much, but we usually get some, and that’s just how I like it.

I am grateful for time spent with my boys doing some printmaking, in preparation for an activity I plan to do with Coop’s Cub pack. Worked out pretty good, I thought.

I am grateful for chocolate peanut butter cookies Julie made tonight.

Gratitude

I am grateful for time spent in the studio this morning.

I am grateful for Julie. She’s just cussing great.

I am grateful for butter chicken she made this evening. Just one of the reasons.

I am grateful for flextangles. I tested them out with the fam tonight. I am planning to do them as an activity for Cooper’s Cub pack and wanted to give them a test run. It was fun.

I am grateful for an hour of TV after the kids were down and the dishes were done.

Gratitude

I am grateful for time in at the studio this morning.

I am grateful for the survival of all family members after an extended trip to Costco today.

I am grateful for my grandmother’s recipe for porcupine meatballs, and for my relatives who photocopied and arranged all her recipes into a coil-bound book. They weren’t a big hit with the kiddos like I’d hoped, but I enjoyed them.

I am grateful for some generally great behaviour from my kids today. They were friendly and didn’t require a lot of refereeing, helpful, and they tidied up the living room without being asked. It’s a grand thing to catch them doing something good.
