I am grateful for a fantastic Halloween. At 9 and 6, my kids are fully committed, and at the right age to run into a bunch of pals to make for a bigger and bigger group of costumed characters as they roam up and down the neighbourhood. They are young enough, too, that their parents are all walking with them, which means I get to know my neighbours better, too.
I am grateful for a productive day.
I am grateful for some success in the art biz.
I am grateful for time spent putting up some Halloween decorations with my family.
I am grateful for the delivery of some light bulbs from Ikea on the mainland from a friend who was there the other day, and asked us if we needed anything.
I am grateful for time in the studio this morning.
I am grateful for a fun night for Coop and Farl at Cubs tonight. It was a bit hectic for us scouters, what with the pumpkins and the children with the knives and the matches and the candles and the faucet left on in the bathroom that led to the water in the floor. In the end though, Coop got home and decreed it was the best meeting ever; so there’s that.
I am grateful for the company of my cousin Jacqui, who joined us for Eggs Benedict this morning.
I am grateful for acidifying artist demonstration atIpus Art Supplies by Jim McFarland today. I’ll be doing one in a couple weeks, so it was good to see how his went, and great to get a glimpse of his process.
I am grateful for a trip with my family to visit another family, that helped me appreciate everything about families, and made me want to hold them all closer.
I am grateful for a moment when Cooper was reading a story to a 2 year old today, that was just so cussin’ sweet.
I am grateful for a safe journey home on a rainy night on the Malahat highway.
I am grateful for a productive afternoon in the garagenous zone.
I am grateful for date night. We saw A Star is Born. It was well put together, and tragic. I really felt for those characters.
I am grateful for time spent getting a cuss ton of cuss done in the garagenous zone today.
I am grateful for time spent with Julie this afternoon.
I am grateful for time spent with Cooper this evening. He got more work done on his costume, painting on a T-shirt.
I am grateful for time spent getting some canvases ready for a demonstration I’ll be doing at Opus Art Supplies in a couple weeks. I’m a bit nervous about it, but excited, and pleased not to be procrastinating in preparing for it anymore. I don’t like the anxiety, but it is nice to have something to be anxious about.
I am grateful for a whole heckuva lot of time at the studio today.
I am grateful for time spent with my lads tonight. We went out for pizza, then squared away some costume issues. Coop whittled away at a sword he’s carving from a piece of scrap lumber. With his martial arts get up and some cleverly googled use of a white T-shirt, we created Farl a fine ninja costume.
I am grateful to watch those kids grow up, and do all the stuff they do. Coop’s getting into theatre, and he’s going after Cub badges, and he’s reading like a fiend. Farl is always finding new ways to entertain himself with lego, and if he finds a new art supply around, like some canvas panels I threw in the art cart a few weeks ago, that kid will take it upon himself to set up and paint like there’s no tomorrow. I can so get behind that!
I am grateful for a productive day in the garagenous zone.
I am grateful for lunch at home with Julie.
I am grateful for time in the studio.
