I am grateful for terrific progress on the trailer today. I am looking forward to getting it to a state where I can think about some of the other facets of my life soon, like personal relationships with other people like family and friends, and also my career.
I am grateful for time spent Battleship with Farley. He walloped me.
I am grateful for supper together.
I am grateful for time with my kiddos at bedtime. Tonight we listened to some history about Martin Van Buren.
I am grateful for time spent watching telly with Julie after the kids were in bed.
I am grateful for help from my neighbour getting the trailer moved out from where it was yesterday, to make it more accessible for sanding and painting. It was cool to see it hooked up to a car, after sitting where it’s been for so long.
I am grateful for Farley’s family fun night. There was macaroni and cheese AND burgers from McDonald’s. There was also a fun time swimming at crystal pool.
I am grateful for the release of Julie’s butterflies. She received them as caterpillars, and she cared for them as we watched them form cocoons, then emerging as butterflies.
I am grateful for Farley’s baseball game tonight. He made a great play as a first base player, hustling back to get his foot on the base as he raised his hand for the perfect catch just in time. Great stuff.
I am grateful for chocolate fondue Cooperade tonight.
I am grateful for time spent with Julie today. We watched a.movie in the middle of the day, because we could. We saw The Burnt Orange Heresy, which was enjoyable enough, but not so good I can say that I’d recommend it.
I am grateful for Cooper’s Scout meeting. Farley came, too. In a previous meeting, we made buddy burners, which are small stoves made out of tin cans with wrapped up cardboard and wax inside. Tonight, they cooked with them. It was great to see them having success with it. I saw bacon, pancakes, and chocolate fondue. It was fun.
I am grateful for a walk in Horth Hill with another family yesterday, followed by a pleasant and relaxing takeout fish and chips picnic in a park in Sidney yesterday.
I am grateful for a mock trial in which Julie was found innocent of butterflyslaughter. She was charged after a less than 100% success rate on the butterflys that she tended to since they were caterpillars in a small tub, gifted to her in a kit. Coop was the prosecuted and I was the defense counsel. While Julie was upset and regretful, she was found to be acting in good faith and was exonerated, with bona fide lawyers presiding over the proceedings, in addition to children.
I am grateful for a zoom conversation with friends this morning.
I am grateful for time spent and lots done on the trailer project between yesterday and today.
I am grateful for time spent with another family today at Glen lake. It was warm enough to swim in. I was personally in there trading water for 30 minutes. It was a glorious day, and while we were all a bit chilly by the time we were packing up to go, it really did feel like summer had begun.
I am grateful for time spent withy curling buddies this evening, batting around a badminton birdie and throwing around a frisbee.
I am grateful for time spent on my trailer project today.
I am grateful for lunch with Cooper and Farley.
I am grateful for family fun night: Julie’s pick. We went for a very cold dip on this clear and pleasant but not quite summer evening, and then got ice cream cones at the exotic Cedar Hill location of McDonald’s. We noticed though, that these didn’t seem the same as ice cream cones we had gotten previously at our usual Hillside McDonald’s, so Julie decreed that we’d better get to the bottom of this. We went to the Hillside in location and ordered more ice cream cones, and I’ll be danged, they were TOTALLY different, and way better. True story. lt was a fun night
