I am grateful for my residency at the Hotel Grand Pacific. Today was my last day. It was a great experience for me, as it was last year. I hope I get to do it again.
I am grateful for the privilege that it is to be a professional artist. It’s not easy, and not a great way to get rich quick, but it’s working for me so far. It’s been my main gig since January. I set modest targets for the year, and as I look at the sales so far for 2019 I see that I am on track to meet them. I have ambition to do better, to work harder, to do more, but I am also aware of my fortune for this experience in the here and now. I am blessed to be in a position to do this job, and I am glad that it’s working for myself and my family, and I love doing it, and I am grateful.
I am grateful for family fun night: my pick. We ordered pizza, stopped by the neighbour’s back yard to serenade their son with the traditional song on his 3rd birthday, and headed back to our side of the tracks for a screening of The History of the Future Folk, which turned out to be a great little indie film that deserved it’s position on the internet list of “100 science fiction films to see with your family” I perused this afternoon.
